Pricing
At Douglas Digital Imaging, pricing is determined by the services you receive. Blanket charges that cover everything any customer might receive are not our policy. You pay only for what you get, and you certainly get what you pay for!
Each job must be paid in full before final delivery will occur.
Retouching Charges
The Basic Charge for retouching time is $35 per hour.
It is charged in one-quarter hour increments, and the minimum charge is for one half hour.
Package or quoted pricing may result in a lower per-hour charge, if applicable.
FTP or email delivery of the final output is included.
Additional Charges
- High Resolution Scan - any flat piece up to 8.5 X 11 maximum dimensions, or 35mm negative or slide. $5 per scan.
- CD containing scans and output files: $2 per CD plus $1 per file.

High Resolution Prints of the finished picture:
Prints are ordered from an outside vendor whose work has impressed us. We will quote those as requested according to their current price list. - Shipping and Handling: We charge based on materials used and postage paid, plus a small charge for handling. This is not a high-profit item; it is just enough to smooth out small variations in our costs. The charge is per shipment, not per item, so multiple items often ship as cheaply as one. We do insist on insurance and receipt verification for all items we ship.
- Return Postage: We ship any item back to you the same way you ship it to us. Insurance is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED unless you are shipping prints for which you have the negatives or the digital files, and are willing to replace at your expense if necessary. We do insist on receipt verification for all items we ship. We will dispose of items in lieu of returning them after your order is complete if you specifically request that we do so. Charges will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Rush Orders
Many jobs that have time pressures can be accomodated at no additional charge, depending on our current workload. Explain the need ("Need by ...", etc.) when the quote is originally requested. We will make every reasonable effort to accomodate your scheduling need. True RUSH orders do incur an additional charge of 100%, as explained in our Policies.
and, Last-but-not-Least, the Accumulated Volume Discount
We value your repeat business, and so we do offer a discount to returning customers. It's not huge - if it was, we'd have to inflate our prices to begin with, and we want to offer all of our customers the best value possible!
It works like this: For every completed prior order you have in our database, we will discount your new order charges by 1%, up to a total discount of 10%. So, your second order (one prior) will be discounted 1%, your third will be discounted 2%, and so forth. Your eleventh order, and all subsequent orders, will be discounted 10%. The Discount will apply to all charges except those for Shipping and Handling, as those are essentially pass-thrus of real expenses that we incur in the processing of some orders.
